Project Veritas Founder James O’Keefe joined Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News tonight “to blow the whistle on the corruption inside big media.” His interview comes on the heels of an explosive series of leaked insider conversations at CNN, where CNN President Jeff Zucker and other executives claimed President Trump was “on steroids,” “sick,” and “erratic.” Zucker and other CNN employees were also caught on tape comparing President Trump’s transition to the 9/11 attacks, and saying that Fox News has a “white supremacy hour” and “naked racism.” The videos O’Keefe released are the first in a long series of videos Project Veritas will be releasing daily throughout the month of December.
After CNN’s PR division claimed their legal experts though Project Veritas’ actions were “a felony” and that they “referred it to law enforcement,” O’Keefe appeared unafraid and undeterred. He hit back by saying that “we have legal experts at Project Veritas and we think Jeff Zucker is just very mad and embarrassed here for what we have exposed. We’ve won every single lawsuit at Project Veritas.”
O’Keefe responded to Hannity’s question on whether or not he felt CNN was a legitimate new organization by stating, “This is something that doesn’t shock people but it confirms a lot of suspicions. To see the President of a media conglomerate barking orders at his reporters and journalists, telling them what to cover, what not to cover, that’s not anything resembling journalism I know. I run an organization with a few dozen reporters. They come to me with facts. They’re not ‘yessing’ me. In fact, they’re challenging me.”
O’Keefe continued, “What Jeff Zucker is doing on these phone calls is telling people what the story is, telling them what not to cover. This is propaganda. And I think in a country where citizens have to exercise their rights and duties, the consent needs to be informed. This is manufacturing consent. And we’ve never actually seen it fly on the wall, you can actually hear the President of the company instruct his Vice Presidents, instruct his reporters, what the narrative ought to be. This is the farthest thing from journalism that I know, and I think that CNN owes an apology to the people. This is disgraceful. And this is the first time we’ve actually seen it. You can actually hear it.”
Hannity responded by saying that CNN has clearly, “picked Joe Biden’s side.”
“I told Zucker this morning when I livestreamed the call that I’ve been doing this for two months and he was kind of shell-shocked by that. We’ve been recording for weeks and weeks Sean. It’s Christmas, December 1st, it’s going to be like an Advent calendar. We’re going to be releasing tapes every day and we have more tapes tonight and tomorrow. This is the brave whistleblower insider who came to us with this information Sean. We encourage more people inside media enterprises to blow the whistle on the corruption inside big media.”
O’Keefe released three additional recordings this evening, including one where CNN President Jeff Zucker and other employees were caught on tape comparing President Trump’s lack of concession to the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks, which claimed the lives of nearly 3000 innocent Americans.
On that call, Zucker stated, “I think that’s an important point. I think it was just a little bit yesterday in terms of national security. I think it’s really important to raise again. I would, I would encourage folks to think about that 9/11 Commission report and the lack of transition.”
Project Veritas also released a second leaked recording where CNN President Jeff Zucker claimed that President Trump was acting “erratically,” “desperately,” and “is sick, maybe on the aftereffects of steroids.”
In another call released shortly afterwards, senior executives at CNN were caught on tape claiming that Fox News has “naked racism” and a “white supremacy hour,” referring to Tucker Carlson’s nightly show.
In a leaked audio call from September 8th, 2020, CNN Digital VP of Global Programming Marcus Mabry states, “Yeah, I was just going to say, if you’re going to talk about the story, I think it’s unavoidable that you have to talk about the naked racism of Tucker Carlson. Because that’s really what drove this anti-diversity push, you know, Trump watches Tucker Carlson’s show and then reacts. And just as sort of the white supremacy hour they have on Fox News every night, I think it’s the — You can’t disconnect the two.”
In a call a few weeks later on September 30th, 2020 CNN President Jeff Zucker claims, “what Donald Trump did last night for anybody who watches Fox News, he (Trump) was just airing all of the grievances he hears on Fox News every night, and that’s all he did.”
O’Keefe stated on Twitter that the calls Project Veritas released today are just the tip of the iceberg, and has promised to release more internal CNN staff calls every day this month “like a December advent calendar.”
Earlier today, O’Keefe called into the morning CNN editorial conference call and confronted Zucker on the recorded phone calls.
“Hey Jeff Zucker, you there?” O’Keefe asked. “Hey, this is James O’Keefe, we’ve been listening to your CNN calls for basically two months and recording everything. Just wanted to ask you some questions if you have a minute. Do you still feel you’re the most trusted name in news, because I have to say, from what I’ve been hearing on these phone calls I don’t know about that. We got a lot of recordings that indicate you’re not really that independent of a journalist.”
Zucker, who sounded surprised by O’Keefe’s presence in CNN’s internal staff call, retorted, “Ok. Um. Thank you for uh, thank you for uh, your comments, um. So everybody in light of that, I think what we’ll do is we’ll, we’ll set up uh, a new system, and we’ll uh, we’ll be back with you. We’ll do the rest of the call uh, a little bit later.”
O’Keefe responded, “We’re going to release those recordings today at 7:00, so stay tuned, it’s gonna be fun.”
Zucker quickly added, “Thank you everybody, have a good day, buh-bye,” before hanging up the call.
In a response to O’Keefe’s livestream, CNN’s PR divison added that legal experts say Project Veritas’ actions may be a felony, and that they referred him to law enforcement for further investigation.
