According to the Post Millennial, reporter Yashar Ali said that “The FBI is investigating allegations against longtime GOP political consultant and Lincoln Project co-founder John Weaver, according to two sources who said they were contacted by FBI agents. Those sources told me that agents inquired whether Weaver ever touched them inappropriately or sent or requested sexually explicit material when they were underage.”
This comes after The Lincoln Project announced that they would launch an external investigation into who knew what and when about John Weaver’s alleged sexual misconduct against boys as young as 14-years-old.
A former employee of the Lincoln Project, Jennifer Horn, spoke up her concerns about Weaver’s misconduct which was brought up in the past by some in the leadership. The Lincoln Project responded by posting private messages between her and a reporter on Twitter.
This material remained on Twitter until the Lincoln Project took it down despite Project Veritas getting their account suspended for violating Twitter’s policy posting “hacked materials”.
News of the investigation comes hours after the Associated Press reported that some of the Lincoln Project’s leaders knew about “10 specific allegations of sexual harassment against co-founder John Weaver, including two involving Lincoln Project employees” as far back as June 2020, However a statement released by the Lincoln Project tells a different story, they claim that nobody knew about these allegations until January.
The statement claims that the organization was “shocked” about the accusations against Weaver when they were made in January.
Weaver resigned from the “Never Trump” organization after the allegations surfaced that he sent sexually explicit photos and messages to 30 men, of which one of them included soliciting a 14-year-old boy. Weaver also offered them jobs in exchange for sex and asked them about their genitalia and sexual history.
As soon as the statement was made public, journalists took issue with it, saying that members of the Lincoln Project’s leadership somehow didn’t know about these allegations until January was “an absolute lie.”
Jennifer Horn who also was a co-founder of the “Never-Trump” organization resigned in early February, and slammed other members of the organizations leadership in her own statement. She said “When I spoke to one of the founders to raise my objections and concerns, I was yelled at, demeaned and lied to.”
Horn claimed that people in the organization had known about these allegations for many months long before they were made public and they had failed to address those concerns. Horn wrote “When these young men called me after the NY Times story ran they spoke of feeling ignored, hurt that their experiences were being denied, angry that they had been used and lied to, and fearful that they would be targeted again. It was heartbreaking to hear.”
