According to Fox News, a U.S. district court judge temporarily blocked President Biden’s attempt to put a moratorium on deportations for 100 days, the judge implemented a nationwide injunction because a geographically-limited order would not adequately protect the interest of states like Texas due to “the free flow of movement” of illegal aliens from other states.
After Texas sued over the policy, the judge blocked Biden. The lawsuit claims that the administration would be violating an agreement it has with the Department of Homeland Security – and would require at least a 180 days’ notice, as well as consultation, prior to implementing changes to current immigration policy.
Last week ICE was notified by the Biden administration to stop with “all removals” and to “release them [undocumented aliens] all, immediately.”
Noncitizens that have, or have been suspected to engage in terrorism and espionage call still be deported, even during a moratorium.
