Conservative journalist and New York Times bestselling author Andy Ngo was reportedly assaulted while attending a riot in Portland.
According to a video posted online, Antifa chased a man who they claimed was Ngo into a hotel lobby. Further posts claim Ngo was able to leave the hotel after receiving medical attention.
Riots on Friday were due to the one-year anniversary since rioting first began in Portland due to the death of George Floyd. Riots became a nightly occurrence in the city last summer, lasting more than 100 consecutive nights.
According to OregonLive.com, about 100 Antifa gathered at Revolution Hall, which is where rioting began last year. Authorities made at least two arrests last night.
Antifa has a history of attacking Asian men they believe to be Ngo. Over the summer, Antifa in Portland harassed an Asian man in a suit they believed was Ngo.
“Do you think that I’m Andy Ngo? said the man. “Is that what you’re thinking? You racist c*nts? You want to see my face? This is the second time that’s happened to me, third time that’s happened to me at protests.”
“This isn’t the first or even the second time these so-called ‘anti-racist’ activists have accused a random Asian person of being me,” said Ngo to The Post Millennial. “I fear one day their blind hatred will drive them to assault another innocent person.”
As of 7 a.m ET, Ngo has not acknowledged the incident.
