Biden’s White House deputy chief of staff Jen O’Malley Dillion, called Republicans “a bunch of f***ers,” during an interview with Glamour magazine right before calling for unity.

“In the primary, people would mock him, like, “You think you can work with Republicans?” said O’Malley Dillion. “I’m not saying they’re not a bunch of fuckers. Mitch McConnell is terrible. But this sense that you couldn’t wish for that, you couldn’t wish for this bipartisan ideal? He rejected that. From start to finish, he set out with this idea that unity was possible, that together we are stronger, that we, as a country, need healing, and our politics needs that too.

During the interview, O’Malley claims that Biden was “able to connect” with voters over a “sense of unity.” O’Malley Dillion also stated that “compromise is a good thing.” She also complained about how difficult listening to others has become due to “polarization” right before referring to Republicans as “f*ckers.”

These comments come during negotiations in Congress over a new stimulus package. Congress and the White House have been unable to pass a package, which would provide relief to economically struggling Americans. Bernie Sanders recently criticized Democrats for rejecting the White House’s $1.8 trillion stimulus package.

“…It does not address the economic crisis facing tens of millions of families in this country,” Sanders said in the interview. “This proposal does not include that $1,200 direct payment per individual and $500 for kids that we desperately need…” Sanders also referred to the Democrats walking away from the $1.8 trillion stimulus package as a “mistake”
