Last week, left-wing Black Lives Matter activist and founder of Utah’s Insurgence USA, John Sullivan, told Fox News that he had stormed the Capitol to “document” the riots and destroy the “narrative” claiming Antifa was the group of people causing the riots.

Insurgence USA self-describes itself as “The Revolution,” with Sullivan having been known for his organization of protests and his violent and unruly rhetoric. In the past, Sullivan has said, “It’s time for a revolution,” that he wanted to “rip Trump” out of office, and that he wanted “to burn this s— down,” referring to the White House.

However, Sullivan’s claim that he was solely in the Capitol building to video the events backfired as the left-wing activist has now been charged in the Capitol riot.

On Thursday, John Sullivan was arrested by the FBI and charged in federal court due to his alleged participation in the breach of the US Capitol. He is currently in custody in Utah per a hold request by the US Marshals Service.

In videos provided to the FBI, Sullivan can be heard agitating protestors. Not to mention, John Sullivan’s brother, James Sullivan, reportedly gave a tip about John’s engagement in DC to the FBI in Salt Lake City.

According to an affidavit signed by Matthew Foulger, an FBI Special Agent, John Sullivan reportedly told rioters inside the Capitol building that “it’s our house m—–f——” and “We gotta get this s— burned.” Sullivan also disclosed to the FBI agent that he was wearing a ballistic vest on the day of the riot and entered the building through a broken window.

Video footage also revealed Sullivan saying, “We accomplished this s—. We did this together. F— yeah! We are all a part of history,” in addition to “Let’s burn this s— down.” Later, as individuals climbed the wall, Sullivan is heard saying, “You guys are f—— savage. Let’s go!”

Numerous times throughout the videos, Sullivan encountered law enforcement. He is heard arguing with officers saying, “you gotta stand down.” and later heard saying, “I have a knife. I have a knife. Let me up,” as he approached officers at one of the doors inside the Capitol. His vulgar rhetoric continued as he is caught saying, “It would be fire if someone had revolutionary music and shit.”

Sullivan is now facing federal charges of civil disorder, unlawfully entering a restricted building, disrupting an official government function, disorderly conduct, physical violence or attempts thereof to any person or property, and entering the House of Congress without prior authorization.

Although he denied any connection to Antifa, his group Insurgence USA had allegedly promoted an event near the National Mall called “Kick These Fascists out of DC.” The event was supposedly held near the same time as the rally on Jan. 6th in support of President Trump, which preceded the Capitol riot.
