An official that was hired to oversee U.S Special Operations Command’s office of diversity and inclusion made comparisons to Trump and Hitler in a photo posted on his Twitter last year.
The U.S Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), which is in charge of counterterrorism and unconventional warefare operations, announced that they have hired Richard-Torres Estrada to fill a role as the chief of the “Diversity & Inclusion” unit.
After the announced hiring, inflammatory social media posts emerged about his distaste for former President Donald Trump.
In June of last year, Torres-Estrada posted a viral side-by-side photo of Trump and Hitler holding Bibles in the air. Turns out the photo of Hitler had been edited.
On Friday, Fox News host Tucker Carlson brought light these posts on his show, claiming that the military has “gone woke.”
“The Pentagon is now the Yale faculty lounge, but with cruise missiles. That should concern you,” said Carlson.
A spokesman for the USSOCOM said on Sunday to the Daily Caller that the posts are under investigation.
“We are aware of the situation, and the command has initiated an investigation,” said Ken McGraw, a spokesman for USSOCOM, to The Daily Caller News Foundation.
