Antifa militants in Oregon gathered for a riot… at a playground.
The rally, which some called an “autonomous day of action,” took place on Saturday, March 6 at a playground in Eugene, Oregon. Multiple communist, socialist, and anarchist groups gathered there, some heavily armed. The event didn’t go according to plan.

Among those who attended were the United Communists and Anarchists (UCA), the Green Anti-Capitalist Front (GAF), the Youth Liberation Front (YLF), and the University of Oregon Young Democratic Socialists of America (UOYDSA).
A source who attended the event captured photos of heavily-armed Antifa militants gathering next to a merry-go-round and a swing set– allegedly, with children still playing on the equipment. This source spoke to The RF Angle on the condition of anonymity. He expressed his concern: “It was shocking to see armed militants patrolling each corner of the park. As [a] resident of Eugene, I find it disturbing that the city supports these kinds of armed gatherings in a public area surrounded by homes.”
The Antifa groups had set up tables and tents, apparently planning to use the park as a starting point for a riot. A Twitter post by the United Communists and Anarchists of Eugene featured an announcement entitled “ABOLISH THE POLICE,” emblazoned on top of a photo of a burning police car. The Antifa groups were planning to “bloc-up and march” at 6:30pm, according to a post by UCA Eugene:
Another Twitter post, by the YLF and GAF (@FullAffinity) explains the group’s plans:
“We don’t want placards and speeches. We want action. This year on the 6th March [sic] we’re calling for an autonomous day of action. A day spent creating solidarity between our communities and destroying those who oppress us. Target the state. Keep it quiet. Keep it serious. DESTROY.”
The riot didn’t exactly go according to plan. The YLF tweeted that they eventually had to call the event off, because too many police surrounded the playground, and perhaps more embarrassingly, not enough members of Antifa showed up.
The anonymous source who attended this event captured photos of material being distributed by the various Antifa groups. One newspaper, entitled “The Insurgent,” featured extremely graphic drawings of murdered police officers, President Trump as a beheaded pig, and other disturbing content. Other pamphlets provided instructions to “Kill the Cop Inside.” More literature, provided by University of Oregon Young Democratic Socialists of America, discussed “Racial Capitalism and Prison Abolition,” how to defund the University of Oregon police, and how to fight “fascists.”

A student at the University of Oregon, who asked to remain nameless due to safety concerns, expressed shock at the fact that a University club could participate in such an event:
“I hope the University and ASUO (student government) investigate what happened here, and see if school funds were used, though I doubt they will. I hope I’m proven wrong, however this school is notorious for their pro-left bias and encouragement of radical leftist ideas.”
Violent factions will continue to tear America apart, unless swift action is taken. Vicious rage runs rampant, as seen in Antifa’s attacks on Senator Hawley and journalist Andy Ngo. This is all too common of an occurrence. The United States is being fractured from the inside. In the words of President Lincoln, who fought to preserve the Republic during the great war of secession, we must act “With malice toward none; with charity for all; with firmness in the right, as God gives us to see the right.” If the people turn to the truth of God, with love for one another, this fracture within the soul of America can be healed.
