Dems Are Winning, But Georgia Senate Races Too Close To Call

The Georgia Senate races are currently too close to call.

As reported by NBC News, we may not know the outcome of the races on election day. The results may become confused, in a manner similar to that of the Presidential election in November.

The races between Jon Ossoff (D) and David Perdue (R), and Raphael Warnock (D) and Kelly Loeffler (R) may be too close to call on election day. At the time of publication, the Democrat candidates are leading.

The New York Times is reporting that Ossoff (D) is at 62%, with Perdue (R) at 38%. Warnock (D) is at 71%, with Loeffler (R) at 29%. Only 65% of votes are reported as of currently, and so there is plenty of margin for change. However, according to NBC, many are already expecting final results to be delayed until at least Wednesday.

Due to concerns over fraud, absentee ballots may not be counted past 7PM, and this is supposed to be strictly enforced. Republicans in Georgia are especially concerned about fraud, with many of them (~75%) telling NBC that they believe the presidential election to have been fraudulent. This creates an expectation for higher in-person GOP voting turnout, meaning that by the end of tabulation, Republican candidates may have gained more support.

Both campaigns have poured in record-breaking levels of financial resources. Widespread alliances of super-PACs and interest groups have mobilized on both sides of the aisle. Large armies of grassroots volunteers have been sent to Georgia by the Trump and Biden campaigns. A battle over America’s future is taking place.

Control of the Senate determines whether Joe Biden would potentially be able to reach his campaign goals once in office. Such goals include the expansion of Obamacare, a ban upon “assault weapons,” and the implementation of the so-called “Equality Act,” a bill widely criticized by religious freedom groups. If the Democrats win Georgia, the Senate will be tied at 50-50, enabling potential Vice President Kamala Harris the ability to break the tie, in favor of Democrats.

However, if the Republican candidates win Georgia, they will create a barrier against much of this legislation, halting it with a majority 52 member GOP Senate. These pressing consequences explain the national focus on Georgia, as the outcome of this race may point America’s future in one of two directions.

One direction will lead to destruction. One side wants to cause the regression of freedom, personal responsibility, and morality. They wish to cause the progression of bureaucratic control, personal irresponsibility, and societal disapproval of morality.

The other direction will lead to hope. This side wishes to cause the progression of freedom, personal responsibility, and morality. Such things are the pillars of a free society. Upon these pillars, a nation can begin the ascent to its former greatness, with the promise of liberty and justice for all.

An anxious nation awaits the sound of its destiny.
