Vice President Kamala Harris’ niece, Meena Harris, took to Twitter last night during Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady’s historic win to mask-shame the quarterback after the NFL tweeted out footage of a maskless Brady entering the Raymond James Stadium.
“What’s Tom doing without a damn mask,” Harris tweeted.
Other leftists quickly joined in on the bashing by pointing out that Brady is a supporter of former President Donald Trump and that “would explain the lack of compliance.” Apparently, these football fans are unaware that the vast majority of NFL players play without a mask for about 3 hours each game, during which they are subjected to countless huddles and scrimmages that place them inches away from other players.
Another fan tweeted that Brady was showing his “privilege by refusing to comply with the one thing the government has been telling us to do for the past year.”
According to Breitbart, Harris seems to be ruffling the feathers of several Biden administration members, with some members of the transition team raising ethics concerns. In a recent article, Axios‘ Alexi McCammond stated, “Biden’s transition team lawyers have reminded Vice President-elect Kamala Harris’ niece, Meena, that she can’t profit off her famous aunt’s image, after she unveiled a collaboration between her company and Beats By Dre.”
While countless other players on both sides of the field were shown unmasked throughout the game, Harris did not feel compelled to condemn their lack of wearing masks. She did, however, tweet that she was having trouble deciding which team to root for since one team has a “racist name” while the other has a “Trump supporting star player,” adding that perhaps she would “lighten up” after the “NFL denounces white supremacy and apologizes directly to Colin Kaepernick.”
While Tom Brady has never voiced support for former President Donald Trump, he has been photographed with a red “Make America Great Again” hat in his locker.
Viewers also took issue with how “packed” the stadium was at last night’s game, stressing how irresponsible it was for Tampa, Florida, to host the Super Bowl with a capacity crowd, with some claiming “they don’t believe in corona down there.” In fact, the word “packed” was trending on Twitter during a large part of the First Quarter of the game. In reality, the stadium was about 1/3 full, with the remaining seats being occupied by cardboard cutouts of “fans.”
Rather than enjoy the game and Tom Brady’s historic win, it seems leftists were only intent on pouncing on anything they could find to criticize Florida, Brady, and freedom in general. It is this constant politicization of sports that has led to many fans boycotting the NFL.
