President Donald Trump continues to reel in more accolades as 2020 concludes.
Earlier today Trump was named the AfricaWorld Man of the Year. AfricaWorld News’ mission is to “provide objective and quality information on the pride and identify of Africa and Africans, and promote diversity and balance in media reporting.”
The article dives into the reasoning behind awarding Trump this honor, calling him “fearless” and “inspirational” among other things. AfricaWorld praised Trump for fighting to bring jobs back to the U.S. and lift Americans, many of whom were minorities, out of poverty.
“At the start of his first tenure, he frowned at an America that had failed many of its citizens,” Ukachukwu Okorie, author of the article, said. “He described the hopelessness of families trapped in poverty, an ineffective education system, and crime, drugs and gangs. And to shame his critics, over four million jobs within two years, and minorities especially African migrants benefited.”
Ultimately the article concludes by recognizing Trump’s devotion to God. AfricaWorld News asserted that Trump’s steadfast faith helped separate him from the pack and bolster his leadership.
“A great appeal for us in AfricaWorld Newspaper is the greatest reason, because it is at the centre of our existence,” Okorie said. “President Donald Trump recognizes God as the Supreme and King of Kings, and has shown practical steps to guarantee freedom of worship. We love God and believe in him.”
Earlier in the week, Trump was named the Most Admired Man of the Year award by Gallup, ending former President Obama’s 12-year run.
