Former President Donald Trump revealed in an interview that he is “100%” thinking about running again in 2024.
He described Gov. DeSantis as “a friend of mine” and “a great guy.” “I endorsed Ron and after I endorsed him he took off like a rocket ship,” said Trump. “He’s done a great job as governor.”
Trump also added that from what he has heard, the American people would “love” the idea of the two running together, and that DeSantis “would be considered” as his pick for Vice President. The former president has not made a formal announcement whether he will run in 2024, however hr is strongly considering it.
When asked what his potential platform would focus on in 2024, Trump added that it would include protecting the Second Amendment, the southern border, tax increases, and the energy industry. He went on to criticize President Biden for failing to mention the border crisis in his address Wednesday night. Trump stated “tens of thousands of people are pouring into our country” at “a level that has never been seen before.”
President Biden has removed a number of immigration policies from the Trump administration including halting the construction of the border wall and having asylum seekers remain in Mexico instead of in the U.S. while awaiting their cases.
