President Joe Biden is anything but a ‘devout Catholic’, despite the media’s best efforts to paint him as one and while that paint other prominent Catholics like Justice Amy Coney Barrett as a ‘radical’ because of her faith. A Catholic priest, Rev. Jerry Porkorsky, agrees with that, saying Biden’s actions have been contradictory to church teachings.
Rev. Pokorsky wrote, “Throughout our lives we walk the line, magnifying God’s holiness or reflecting sinful pride and rebellion. It is holy and good continually to seek the crown of sanctity. But a single seriously evil act-committed with sufficient freedom and informed consent-threatens our eternity. So it is presumptuous and dangerous to proclaim oneself as a devout Catholic or to encourage (or even allow) the description,” he went on. “President Biden’s supporters repeatedly claim that he is a devout Catholic. In 2005, Biden himself protested those who questioned his Catholicism: ‘The next Republican that tells me I’m not religious I’m going to shove my rosary beads down their throat.”
Pokorsky said that Biden’s acts as president goes against Catholic doctrine.
Porkorsky noted that one month after Joe Biden’s inauguration he issued a statement on the 48th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, saying that he is “committed to codifying” the decision that legalized abortion. He also promised to appoint judges that are pro-choice, and most recently he rescinded the pro-life Mexico City Policy, which funds abortions overseas with U.S. tax dollars.
Porkorsky also talked about Biden’s support for “the Equality Act, which would add sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes under the Civil Rights Act of 1964.” The ‘Equality’ Act is the biggest threat towards the free practice of religion in this country that we have ever faced.
He further wrote that California Attorney General, who is now Biden’s HHS nominee, Xavier Becerra, “supports legislation that permits partial-birth abortion, forces every healthcare plan to pay for abortions, forces pro-life pregnancy centers to advertise abortions, forces the Little Sisters of the Poor to pay for contraception and abortion drugs, and allows assisted suicide.”
Becerra was responsible for the prosecution of undercover journalists David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt for exposing Planned Parenthood’s involvement in harvesting, marketing and selling human infant remains. And Becerra also sued the federal government when he couldn’t remove the Little Sisters of the Poor religious exemption status in the state of California, following the lawsuit which sought to force nuns to pay for services that are a direct conflict to their religious faith.
Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City, Kansas, and chairman of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Pro-Life Activities, has slammed Biden for proclaiming himself to be one thing while being another.
In a recent interview, Archbishop Naumann said “The president should stop defining himself as a devout Catholic, and acknowledge that his view on abortion is contrary to Catholic moral teaching. It would be a more honest approach from him to say he disagreed with his church on this important issue and that he was acting contrary to church teaching,” He went on. “When he says he is a devout Catholic, we bishops have the responsibility to correct him. Although people have given this president power and authority, he cannot define what it is to be a Catholic and what Catholic moral teaching is.”
Biden’s Vice President Kamala Harris, also attacked a then district court nominee, Brian Buescher for being a member of the Catholic Knights of Columbus, because they too hold pro-life views.
